Shimakura Rika (島倉りか) is a Japanese pop singer under Hello! Project as a member of the sub-group CHICA#TETSU and the combined group BEYOOOOONDS. She first joined Hello! Project as a member of Hello Pro Kenshuusei in March 2017.

Early Life[]

Shimakura Rika was born on August 20, 2000 in Tokyo, Japan.

2016[]

In late 2016, Shimakura participated in the Morning Musume '16 Shinseiki Audition Saiboshuu, but failed.

2017[]

On March 6, it was announced that Shimakura had joined Hello Pro Kenshuusei alongside Hibi Marina, Eguchi Saya, Doi Rena, Okamura Minami, Matsunaga Riai, Yamada Ichigo, and Nakayama Natsume.[1] She was introduced at the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2017 3gatsu ~Marching!~ on March 11.

Shimakura was featured in Juice=Juice's "Jidanda Dance" music video as a back dancer.

From October 26 to November 12, Shimakura performed in the Engeki Joshibu musical Bokutachi Karen na Shounen Gasshoudan, taking on the roles of ♯ Gumi's Yuria and Julian.

2018[]

On February 13, she participated in a fanclub event titled Hello Pro Kenshuusei Special Event in Nagoya ~Hajimemashite! 2~ at Midland Square Cinema 2 alongside Maeda Kokoro, Yamazaki Yuhane and Nishida Shiori, where she performed a cover of Berryz Koubou's 23rd single "Maji Bomber!!".

On March 20, she participated in a fanclub event titled Engeki Joshibu "Bokutachi Karen na Shounen Gasshoudan" DVD Hatsubai Kinen Special Event in Nagoya at Midland Square Cinema 2 alongside Maeda Kokoro, Noguchi Kurumi, Yonemura Kirara, Yamazaki Yuhane, and Nishida Shiori.

On May 6, Shimakura won the best performance award with 324 votes at the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2018 ~Haru no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~ event for her performance of "Fiesta! Fiesta!".

On June 9, during the Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2018 6gatsu ~Niji~ in Tokyo, it was announced that Shimakura was chosen alongside Nishida Shiori and Eguchi Saya to join the new group led by Ichioka Reina that would debut later in 2018.[2]

On October 19, the name of the group led by Ichioka was announced as CHICA#TETSU. It was also announced that it would be part of the combined group BEYOOOOONDS alongside the second group Ame no Mori Kawa Umi and the Hello! Project "ONLY YOU" Audition winners.[3][4]

2019[]

On August 20, she celebrated her 19th birthday in a fanclub event titled BEYOOOOONDS / CHICA#TETSU Shimakura Rika Birthday Event 2019, which featured two shows at Shinjuku ReNY.

2020[]

On August 20, she released her first photobook, Juukyuusai no Natsu.[5] She also celebrated her 20th birthday at a fanclub event titled BEYOOOOONDS / CHICA#TETSU Shimakura Rika Birthday Event 2020 with two shows at Shinjuku ReNY.[6] In compliance with government policy, cheering, crowding, standing, and closeness in the venue were prohibited, and wearing masks were required to enter.

On November 5, Up to boy's web magazine News Crunch began serializing a corner by Shimakura Rika about "Showa Kayo" titled "Rikawani Kouhaku Utagassen".[7][8]

2021[]

On August 20, she celebrated her 21st birthday in a fanclub event titled BEYOOOOONDS / CHICA#TETSU Shimakura Rika Birthday Event 2021, which featured two shows at LANDAMRK HALL.

2023[]

On August 22, she celebrated her 23rd birthday in a fanclub event titled BEYOOOOONDS / CHICA#TETSU Shimakura Rika Birthday Event 2023, which featured two shows at KT Zepp Yokohama.

Personal Life[]

She has two younger siblings, and she owns a pet turtle.[9]

When Shimakura joined CHICA#TETSU, she was in her third year of high school. She graduated from high school on March 14, 2019.[10]

    • If she could have one wish, she'd like to go back to the age of the dinosaurs because she likes them.
    • Her favorite dinosaur is the Megalosaurus (she has previously named the tyrannosaurus, pteranodon, and parasaurolophus).
    • She sang "Be Alive" for her Hello! Project Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2017 ~Haru no Koukai Jitsuryoku Shindan Test~ solo.
    • She particularly likes Showa era idols and songs, especially Matsuda Seiko, and hopes to have activities in the future involving Showa idol music.

    • During her December 2019 "Shimakura Rika 1001 Nights" talk event, she revealed that she originally wasn't aiming to become an idol; her mother sent in her application to Morning Musume's 13th generation audition without asking her. She started learning about Hello! Project after she was accepted into the audition. After failing the final round, she felt it was something worth working hard for.
    • Her mother asked her if she would like to join Hello Pro Kenshuusei after that, to help to fix her half-hearted self attitude.[14]
    • She began learning to play guitar in 2019 as a hobby, but wants to become skilled enough to perform.
