Single V

Okitegami (置き手紙; Leftover Letter) is Fujimoto Miki's sixth and last single. It was released on April 23, 2008, being her first single since retiring from Morning Musume. It peaked at number twenty-nine on the Oricon charts and sold 24,746 copies overall. It is her longest charting single, but also her lowest selling and ranking. The single charted for twenty one weeks.

At the time of Fujimoto releasing the song, Horiuchi Takao (also part of UFA) released his own version of "Okitegami". Fujimoto's response about it was that she was looking forward for the chart battle with her senpai. She also added:

"This song was really difficult. It was different from what I used to sing until now, so please look forward for this new Fujimoto Miki. My mom told me not to cause any trouble to Horiuchi-san."

They both later did a duet of the song on the show "The M", with him singing the first half, her singing the second half.

While Miki hasn't released a new album that would include this single, "Okitegami" is featured in Petit Best 9 as track 16.
