Ogata Risa (小片リサ) is a Japanese pop singer. She was formerly under Hello! Project as a member and sub-leader of Tsubaki Factory. Prior to joining Hello! Project as a member of Hello Pro Kenshuusei in November 2014, she was a member of NICE GIRL Project! Kenshuusei under NICE GIRL Project!.

As of June 2021 she is part of M-line club.

Early Life[]

Ogata Risa was born on November 5, 1998 in Tokyo, Japan.

2011-2013[]

On April 30, she was officially unveiled as a new NICE GIRL Project! Kenshuusei during THE Possible Live 2011 Haru Love is here ~Kibou no Hikari~ at Shinjuku BLAZE. She was designated as a senbatsu member and appeared at various events as a representative of NICE GIRL Project! Kenshuusei.

In Summer 2012, she participated in the Morning Musume 11ki Member "Suppin Utahime" Audition, but failed to pass the third round. Her audition number was #125.

2014[]

On November 16, NICE GIRL Project! Kenshuusei appeared on stage for the last time during Iwai THE Possible JAPAN Tour 2014 ~FINAL~ at Nakano Sun Plaza. Soon after, Hashimoto Nagisa, Horie Kizuki, Ogata Risa, Shimano Momoko, Hirose Ayaka, and Inoue Rei were given the opportunity to become a member of Hello Pro Kenshuusei, transferring from TNX to UP-FRONT PROMOTION and joining Hello! Project. She was formally introduced during the Hello Pro Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2014 ~11gatsu・12gatsu no Nama Tamago Show!~ on November 29 alongside the former NICE GIRL Project! trainees and three other girls.

2015[]

On April 29, it was announced that Ogata would be debuting in a new unit named Tsubaki Factory alongside Yamagishi Riko, Kishimoto Yumeno, Niinuma Kisora, Asakura Kiki and Tanimoto Ami.

From June 18 to June 28, Ogata participated in TRIANGLE, an Engeki Joshibu musical starring Morning Musume '15.

On August 8, Ogata was announced as the sub-leader of Tsubaki Factory.

2017[]

On November 6, Ogata celebrated her 19th birthday at a fanclub event titled Tsubaki Factory Ogata Risa Birthday Event 2017, which featured two shows at TOKYO FM HALL.

2018[]

On February 28, Ogata announced that she had become a member of the Hello! Project Mobile advertising department and the monthly exclusive radio program Hello! Project Mobile Sendenkaigi, joining current members Ogata Haruna, Nonaka Miki, and Yanagawa Nanami.[1]

On November 5, she celebrated her 20th birthday at a fanclub event titled Tsubaki Factory Ogata Risa Birthday Event 2018, which featured two shows at Shinjuku ReNY.

2019[]

On November 5, Ogata released her first solo photobook, titled Orange no Sunadokei ~Risa Hatachi~.[2]

On November 6, she celebrated her 21st birthday at a fanclub event titled Tsubaki Factory Ogata Risa Birthday Event 2019, featuring two shows at Shinjuku ReNY.

2020[]

On March 12, Ogata was to hold a joint fanclub event with Hirose Ayaka and Inoue Rei titled Kobushi Factory Hirose Ayaka・Inoue Rei & Tsubaki Factory Ogata Risa FC Event 2020 at LANDMARK HALL. However, it was cancelled in consideration of a new policy established by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19.[3]

On May 14, she opened up an official Instagram account.[4]

On October 8, it was announced on the official Hello! Project site that Ogata Risa has been suspended from all activities for an indeterminate amount of time due to rule violations. Ogata admitted to using a secret social media account as a vent diary, where she privately posted complaints that no one was meant to see. She clarified that while she did own the account, her posts were influenced by emotions, and many of them are not actually true. She offered to have her activities suspended for the time being to reflect on her behavior.[5] Her individual online release events through WithLIVE for "Dansha-ISM / Ima Nanji?" have been cancelled as a result, and tickets will be refunded.[6]

On December 28, it was announced on the official Hello! Project site that Ogata Risa has chosen to not resume her activities, and that she will depart from both Tsubaki Factory and Hello! Project. She will remain signed under UP-FRONT PROMOTION, and her future activities will be announced when they are decided.[7]

2021[]

On June 1, Ogata resumed her activities and joined M-line club. Her first solo song "Far away", a cover of Mizukoshi Keiko's "Too Far Away", was uploaded to UP-FRONT Channel. In the same day, it was announced that she will be appearing in the M-line Special 2021 ~Make a Wish!~ tour as a guest on June 5 and 27 concerts, and as an opening act on June 20 and 26 concerts.[8]

On June 5, her second solo cover, of Matsubara Miki's "Mayonaka no Door~stay with me", was uploaded to UP-FRONT Channel.[9]

On July 28, it was announced that Ogata, along with Uemura Akari and Kawamura Ayano, would be featured in Matsubara Takeshi's new single, "Kaze no Bouquet". The single was released on September 29.[10]

On October 13, she appeared as an opening act of the Suzuki Airi LIVE 2021 ~26/27~ concert at Nippon Budokan.[11]

On November 6, she celebrated her 23rd birthday at a fanclub event titled Ogata Risa Birthday Event 2021, featuring two shows at LANDMARK HALL.

On November 29, she opened a Twitter account.[12]

On December 15, Ogata released her first cover album bon voyage! ~risa covers~.[13]

On December 30 and 31, Ogata appeared as a guest artist in the BEYOOOOONDS Premium and Tsubaki Factory Premium concerts of the Hello! Project Year-End Party 2021 ~GOOD BYE & HELLO!~.

2022[]

From January 11 to June 12, she held her first solo live concert titled "Ogata Risa "bon voyage!"" in support of her first cover album, including Bitter & Sweet as a support act, Fukumura Mizuki, Suzuki Airi and Miyamoto Karin as guests, and featuring several support dancers, such as OCHA NORMA members Yonemura Kirara and Kubota Nanami, ANGERME members Kawana Rin and Tamenaga Shion, and BEYOOOOONDS / SeasoningS members Hirai Miyo and Satoyoshi Utano.[14]

On October 26, she released her first EP, Docchi.[15]

On November 3, she celebrated her 24th birthday at a fanclub event titled Ogata Risa Birthday Event 2022, featuring three shows at LANDMARK HALL.

2023[]

On January 1, she was transferred from UP-FRONT PROMOTION to J.P ROOM alongside Michishige Sayumi, Sato Masaki, Inaba Manaka, Morito Chisaki, and Kaga Kaede.

On November 7, she celebrated her 25th birthday at a fanclub event titled Ogata Risa Birthday Event 2023, featuring three shows at TOKYO FM HALL.

On December 6, she released her second single, Eiga no Shumi ga Au Dake / Chiisana Sekai.[16]

2024[]

On February 13, it was announced that a new unit formed with the M-line club members Sato Masaki, Miyamoto Karin, Inaba Manaka, Ozeki Mai, and Ogata Risa named SIOOM (from M-line Music) would be singing the ending theme of the MBS drama Cinderella Complex. The song is a cover of the song "C\C (Cinderella\Complex)" originally released by the unit High-King in 2008 titled "C\C (Cinderella\Complex) '24".[17]

Personal Life[]

Ogata is an only child.[18] Her father is a Morning Musume fan.

When Ogata joined Tsubaki Factory, she was a second year high school student. She graduated from high school in March 2017.[19]

Ogata is good friends with Morning Musume members Haga Akane and Ishida Ayumi. She is also good friends with fellow Tsubaki Factory member Kishimoto Yumeno; their paring name is Marumon (まるもん). She has also been close with Hirose Ayaka and Inoue Rei since they were in NICE GIRL Project! together.

Ogata was given the name Risa as it can pass as a name overseas.[20] It is written in katakana to balance with her family name.

  • Marunechin (まるねちん): Ogata is good friends with Haga Akane. Their pairing name is "Marunechin" a combination of their nicknames "Risamaru" and "Akanechin".
