Hello! Project Wiki

Miss Love Tantei (Missラブ探偵; Miss Love Detective) is the sixth single of the Hello! Project duo, W. The single was released on September 7, 2005, the single V was released on September 14, 2005 under the same label. "Miss Love Tantei" is W's last single released due to the termination of Kago Ai's contract. It was also their lowest selling single, presumably due to their year-long hiatus caused by Kago Ai's suspension for underage smoking. The single peaked at #13 on the Oricon weekly charts and sold 18,099 copies overall. The single V peaked at #2 and sold 9,836 copies overall.

"Miss Love Tantei" had not been included on an W album, and some speculated it would have been part of their cancelled W3: Faithful album, the song does however appear on the Hello! Project compilation album Petit Best 6.

Controversy

"Miss Love Tantei" faced criticism due to its sampling of the t.A.T.u. song "Not Gonna Get Us". The music video also faced criticism because of a scene where Tsuji and Kago appeared with tanned skin and white lips, traits of the controversial ganguro look.
