KOUGA, June 2016

KOUGA is a Japanese composer, arranger, and pianist. He debuted as a songwriter in April 2015 with "Gamusha LIFE" by ℃-ute.[1]

His former alias is Fujipontel before he changed it to KOUGA starting in 2013.[2]

KOUGA was born on August 18, 1993 in Tokyo.[3] He graduated from Wakaba Sogo High School.[4]

In November 2014, he entered the "Million Renpatsu Ongaku Sakka Juku" audition project held by music-ru TV and Music Factory Tokyo for an opportunity to write a ℃-ute song with Shonan no Kaze's SHOCK EYE.[5][6] At the time he was a sound production student at Showa Academia Musicae.[1][4]

For the audition, KOUGA wrote a demo song titled "Next Stage".[7][8] In January 2015, his demo was selected as the winner, and it became the draft for ℃-ute's 27th single A-side "Gamusha LIFE".[9]

In March 2016, KOUGA graduated from university.[10]
