History
7AIR was one of the three shuffle units created in 2003 and was made up of members from Morning Musume, Melon Kinenbi, Country Musume, Coconuts Musume and a Hello! Project soloist. The group was led by fourth gen Morning Musume member Ishikawa Rika.
The group was made for the purpose of recording a song to be released along with the other 2003 shuffle unit works on a combined single. 7AIR's song was titled Kowarenai Ai ga Hoshii no and was an R&B style song that split the unit's members into two groups; Sexy and Cool. The Sexy singers - Ishikawa Rika, Takahashi Ai, Satoda Mai and Otani Masae - were the singers for the single while the Cool singers - Inaba Atsuko, Mika Todd and Niigaki Risa - were the rappers for the single.
The other 2003 shuffle units were the rappers; SALT5, and the Ska-style pop singers; 11WATER who released the songs Get Up! Rapper and Be All Right!.
The song was later covered by the Hello! Project subgroup, Minimoni as two members of that group were also in 7AIR, those being Takahashi Ai and Mika Todd. The song appeared on the groups second album, MiniMoni Songs 2 with all members singing but with Tsuji Nozomi and Mika Todd doubling up and rapping also.
